Call a Whaaa…mbulance!

Coach Harbaugh

Gee, wasn’t that fun? Coach Harbaugh isn’t having any fun looking at the score board. The second half I started fast-forwarding through the re-plays, because the first time was painful enough. (I pause the live game about 1/2 hour so I can zip through the commercials that pop up every 2-3 plays.)

I think I may have pushed the “Mute” button more than the “>>” button during the game tonight. The network had to show each play over again, so the commentators could keep pontificating about they just saw. Don’t they realize we are watching the same game??

And who had the bright idea to schedule the 49ers first game in New Orleans? Some NFL executive with a grudge? The sad thing is that the team played well. As well as you can play during a major ass-kicking, that is. Alex Smith is probably used to it, but poor Colin Kaepernick! What an eye-opening night it was for him I bet.

I mourned the loss of Joe Nedney. You know I have a soft spot for kickers. That and Joe was often the only one to put points on the board. But tonight I fell in love with our new kicker, David Akers. Who happened to be the only 49er to put points on the board. Hmmm… I sense a pattern  here. Or maybe a curse.

Is it me or do we only have 2 offensive linemen? There were at least 5 Saints getting past the two of them. And sacking is too delicate of a word to describe what happened to our QB’s.

I just know I’m going to have nightmares tonight.

Let The Season Begin!!

🙂  Tonight at 5:00pm (PT) opens the San Francisco 49ers 2011 preseason. 🙂

I get into preseason because I can check out the new players. Not to mention the brand new coaches.  I never thought there was anything wrong with the last two, in fact I loved Coach Singletary ever since he called Vernon Davis on his crap and helped mold him from a good player, into a great player. Sigh…

Coach Harbaugh has to prove himself this season, so I hope he listens to me. Every year the 49ers have been firing and hiring QB’s. We have had great QBs come and go and still we lose. What we need is a kick-ass offensive line, so the QBs actually have 10 seconds to get the ball where it needs to go. Let’s shell out some bucks and bring in some ass-kickers for a change.

You know I’m right.

GO 49ers!!

Over There

I really would have loved to see the 49ers play (and win) against the Broncos last Sunday. But No. The game was not played in this country for some reason.

Why aren’t the UK games being televised in the USA? They are OUR TEAMS, damn it! What does a bloody Englishman know, or care, about American football anyway? Did the NFL get a $%@!-load of money to do this, or some kind of huge perk?

Anyway, at least their Bye week happens after their big trip so they can decompress from it all. I spent hours reading the blogs & sports news about Troy Smith starting that game and I sure would have loved to see him in action. But No.

Next week we face the St. Louis (should be Cardinals) Rams on our own turf.  A Smith will be Quarterbacking. We just don’t know which one.

Sigh……
